וְאַרְבַּ֣ע כְּתֵפ֔וֹת אֶ֚ל אַרְבַּ֣ע פִּנּ֔וֹת הַמְּכֹנָ֖ה הָֽאֶחָ֑ת מִן־הַמְּכֹנָ֖ה כְּתֵפֶֽיהָ׃
And there were four undersetters at the four corners of each base; the undersetters thereof were of one piece with the base itself.
Rashi on I Kings
There were four shoulders. As I have explained above, “and its four corners had shoulders,”53Above v. 30. and he did not mention it here only to say, “the shoulders were of the base itself.”54I.e., they were not made separately and then attached to it.
